Fairfield News: Fireplace Gets Out Of Control

2021-03-07@11:34pm--#Fairfield CT-- #cttraffic-- What was going to be a relaxing evening around the fireplace turned out to be chaos after the fire got out of control and extended to the home and attic. Firefighters were quick on the scene and kept the fire from spreading throughout the home. There were no reported injuries. The fire was recalled in about 45 minutes. Ansonia News: Person Shot

Ansonia Police UPDATE: On March 6, 2021 at 1:10 A.M., the Ansonia Police Department investigated a report of a person shot on Lester Street. Responding officers found a 26-year-old male, Ansonia resident, on the sidewalk in front of 20 Lester Street, the male was shot once in the lower body. The male reported while standing on the side of the road a dark colored car drove down Lester Street, shot him and then fled the area. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. Evidence was recovered at the scene and the patrol division and detective bureau continue to investigate. Bridgeport News: Foot Pursuit Arrest

#Bridgeport CT--On Sunday 2/28/21 at 0224hrs Bridgeport Police attempted a MV Stop of a vehicle bearing no NY registration on East Main St. The party after exiting the vehicle and disobeying the officers commands began to run away from the Officer while clutching to his waistband. During the brief foot pursuit two objects fell from the party. The party was detained in the area of Clarence St. One officer was injured with non-life threatening injuries to their hand during the pursuit.  Officers retrieved a loaded firearm magazine and cellular phone discarded during the chase and while searching the vehicle found small quantities of drugs and drug bagging products.
