Bridgeport News: Cop Injured In Crash

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: At 11:33 pm Bridgeport Police was detailed to block the intersection of Island Brook Ave Ext. and Colonial Ave because of low hanging wires. The officer activated his emergency lights and blocked the intersection. They were hit (t-boned) by an operator traveling north on Island Brook Ave Ext.  The officer sustained neck and back injuries and was transported to St. V's. Hospital. The other operator claimed to have injuries and he was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. Bridgeport News: 2 Alarm Fire

2021-03-14@12:30pm--#Bridgeport CT-- #ctfire--Firefighters were called to a fire on Jones Avenue near Pequonnock Street for a structure fire. When they arrived they reported heavy fire from the front of the building. The high winds caused an exposure to the building next door and started a fire in the apartments above Pequonnock  Wash and Dry on Pequonnock  Street, the fire went to two alarms. There were no reported injuries. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

Bridgeport News: Structure Fire

2021-03-13@5:49pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Parrott Avenue for a structure fire. Firefighters found heavy smoke on their arrival to this multi-family home. One resident was being treated for smoke inhalation. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.  The American Red Cross is helping three families – nine adults after a fire today on Parrot Avenue, Bridgeport. The Red Cross provided assistance to meet the families’ immediate needs. Responders included: Patricia Breen, Tracey Scheer, Sana Sarr, and Benjamin Yamboa. The Red Cross also provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup; notification of important contacts; dealing with damaged items, and more. The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items…

Fairfield News: NEIGHBORS’ QUICK ACTION SAVES RESIDENTS FROM FIRE.

FAIRFIELD, CT, 3/13/2021 : Fast acting neighbors notified 911 andalerted sleeping residents that their home was on fire possiblypreventing multiple fatalities from occurring.At 12:02am the Fairfield Emergency Communications Centerreceived multiple calls reporting a structure fire at 226 RuaneStreet. Engines 1, 2, 4, 5, Ladder 2, Rescue 1, and Car 3responded. Engine 1, under the command of Lt. Jon Catandella,arrived on scene three minutes later and reported heavy smokeand fire showing from the rear of the structure. ShiftCommander, Assistant Chief Roger Caisse, arrived in Car 3shortly after and confirmed Engine 1’s report.
