Tax Relief Program for Westport Taxpayers Impacted by COVID-19

Westport, CT – First Selectman Jim Marpe announced today that the Town of Westport will offer the tax relief deferment program for eligible taxpayers for the January installment period.  The authority to offer such program is granted by Governor Lamont’s Executive Order 9R, issued on December 16, 2020, which suspends and modifies tax deadlines and collection efforts for tax bills that become due and payable on January 1, 2021. All municipalities in the State of Connecticut must offer a tax relief program. 2020-12-21@11:30pm--#Stratford CT-- #ctfire-- At approx. 11:18 PM, The Stratford Fire Dept. was dispatched to 161 Cheshire St. for a reported structure fire. Under the command of Assistant Chief Alesevich, Engine 1, 2, 3, 4, Tac5 and Truck 1 responded with a total of 22 firefighters and 2 Safety Officers. On arrival, Engine 2 observed heavy fire coming from two of the second floor bedroom windows of the large colonial style home. The fire extended up and into the attic. The interior suffered heavy fire and smoke damage throughout. The fire was under control in 30 minutes. Bridgeport and Milford Fire Depts. provided station coverage during the incident.
