MEMBER OF GOVERNOR’S SENIOR STAFF TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

#HARTFORD, CT – Office of the Governor Chief of Staff Paul Mounds today announced that a member of Governor Ned Lamont’s staff has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. This is the first known case of coronavirus within the Office of the Governor. The individual who tested positive has not exhibited any symptoms and is home in isolation. The administration’s senior staff and Governor Lamont continue to be tested twice weekly and there are no known additional positive cases at this time. Contact tracing is underway, and all members of the Lamont administration who have been in close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more per CDC guidelines) with the senior staff member will self-quarantine for fourteen…

Fairfield News: Threatening Arrest

2020-11-13@4:22pm--#Fairfield CT--The Fairfield Police Department received a 911 call reporting an individual had just threatened the complainant with a firearm in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy, located at 330 Grasmere Avenue, Fairfield. Officers responded to the area and quickly gathered information on the suspect involved.  A subsequent investigation revealed that Scott Marsillo (DOB 12/28/1992) of Fairfield approached the complainant in a vehicle, pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the complainant and threatened to kill them.   Marsillo was located at his home in Fairfield and was in possession of an airsoft type pistol which resembled the firearm described by the complainant. #Fairfield CT– Fairfield Police Chief Lyddy posted today: “On Wednesday, Nov. 11 at approximately 9 p.m., the Fairfield Police Department was called to assist Fairfield Animal Control in an investigation regarding an animal in severe distress in the area of Lawrence Road.“The animal, which was found at night during adverse weather conditions, was identified as a young coyote by multiple individuals, including two Fairfield Animal Control Officers (ACO). Stratford Library Sets Zoom Book Talk

The Stratford Library “Books Over Coffee” program continues with an online discussion of Christina Baker Kline’s historical drama, The Exiles, on Wednesday, November 18.  The online Zoom program, hosted by Linda LiDestri, will be held between 12-1 pm.  The book talk is free and open to the public. The Exiles is Christina Baker Kline’s excellent historical fiction novel that takes place in the early 1840s and focusses on the transport of female “convicts” from England to Tasmania. The transport of prisoners to North America and Australia is generally known, but not about the female population to Tasmania. Christina Baker Kline has established herself as a novelist who plumbs noteworthy but little-known facets of the past, and The Exiles marks her third foray into the genre.
