Bridgeport Police UPDATE: On August 28, 2020, at 2321 hours, a Shotspotter activation was received in the area of 725 Beechwood Avenue. A short time later, a gunshot victim arrived at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest. After extensive efforts by medical staff to save the victim’s life, he succumbed to his injuries at midnight. The victim is identified as George John, 25 of Shelton, CT. According to witnesses, John was shot on Beechwood Avenue and then transported by private vehicle to the hospital. Detectives processed a scene at the shooting location and are actively investigating the homicide of John. 2020-08-28@11:23pm–#Bridgeport CT– A man was shot in the chest at Beechwood and Howard Avenue.  The victim was transported by private vehicle to St. Vincent’s Hospital.  There was no information on his condition.
