#Bridgeport CT--This morning, Bridgeport Police arrested Breeze Brown (a.k.a. Eric Brown, DOB: 2/23/74 or 1687 Noble Avenue) for his role in the 1993 murder of Theodore Edwards. Brown is charged with Felony Murder. He is being held on a $1,000,000 bond. Yesterday, Danarius Dukes (DOB: 7/4/1976 of 62 May Street, Bridgeport) was arrested and charged with the 1993 murder of Theodore “Teddy” Edwards. Teddy was a 77-year-old janitor that worked the overnight hours at Duchess restaurant at 35 Boston Avenue. The evidence, in this case, shows that Dukes and three others devised a plan to rob the manager of the restaurant after closing time. To carry out their plan, Dukes hid in the bathroom with a gun. WETHERSFIELD, CT – The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles resumed road testing services for driver’s licenses as well as new vehicle registration services on June 30, 2020 at select DMV locations. Knowledge testing for motorcycle learner’s permits is slated to resume on July 7, 2020 at DMV’s Bridgeport and Waterbury locations. “We will continue to slowly reopen our doors and expand our service options,” said DMV’s Deputy Commissioner Tony Guerrera. “Safety remains our primary focus.” The DMV began collaborating with driving schools on June 23, 2020 in an effort to reduce its backlog, and was able to schedule nearly 1,000 road tests through June 30, 2020. #Westport CT--On Tuesday, November 20, 2018, officers responded to Balducci’s Market, 1385 Post Road East, on a theft complaint. Upon speaking with the victim, he alleged that a co-worker at the store, identified as Williemae Reed, had stolen the identifying information from his debit card and had subsequently used that information to make multiple unauthorized purchases totaling approximately $375.00. Despite a number of attempts, officers were unable to make contact with or locate the suspect in this incident. Based on the investigation, an arrest warrant was sought and granted for Reed. WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI), and Jon Tester (D-MT) introduced legislation today that would mandate the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) reimburse veterans’ emergency health care expenses from non-VA facilities that are not covered by the veteran’s private insurance. This legislation follows the 2016 Staab v. McDonald and 2019 Wolfe v. Wilkie decisions, both ruling that the VA must reimburse veterans for emergency medical expenses. The Wolfe decision also found that more than 600,000 veterans may have been affected by the VA’s denial of these claims, with anywhere from $1.8 to $6.5 billion owed to veterans.
