It's great that we are having parades for many of the first responders during this pandemic. One group that seems to be ignored is the EMS paramedics. Even the state shunned them when they passed a bill that expanded workers’ compensation benefits for first responders who suffer from emotional and mental impairments that result from being on duty. Paramedics were not considered first responders in this bill. Yet I often hear police call into the radio to "step up the medics" in some of the more traumatic calls. #Norwalk CT--The Detective Bureau is requesting assistance from the public in identifying a larceny suspect. Approximately $8,000 - $9,000 in construction equipment was stolen out of a locked storage container, and the suspect attempted to break into a construction vehicle. A security camera on the premises captured a picture of the suspect which is attached to this email. Anyone who can identify the suspect or with information regarding this crime is asked to contact Detective Serio at 203-854-3188 or dserio@norwalkct.org.
2020-04-16#Bridgeport CT-- Today the city of Bridgeport first-responders traveled in a caravan with lights and sirens to visit St Vincent’s Medical Center and Bridgeport Hospital in an act of appreciation to salute frontline healthcare workers and to recognize patients that are currently in their care at the hospitals due to COVID-19. Neighborhood residents were encouraged to beep, clap, wave. The city also requested that onlookers follow social distancing guidelines, and either stay in their vehicles or remain 6’ apart.
2020-04-16@10:5PM--#Fairfield CT-- A Porsche rolled on its side at Redding Road and Cross Highway near the Patterson Club with no one inside or near the vehicle. The caller said they helped the driver out of the car and another car with a bunch of yoots inside picked up the driver and sped off. There were also long skid marks on the hill Cross Highway matching the Porsche.
