Bridgeport News: Double Stabbing

2020-04-07@7:30pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating a double stabbing in the 200 block of Hough Avenue.  The first radio reports said the girlfriend stabbed the boyfriend and short time later another report of a second person stabbed.  The girlfriend fled on foot but police located her and made the arrest.  There was a second scene on Pembroke Street, I could not verify if it was the second victim or the girlfriend.

Bridgeport News: Water Rescue Off Pleasure Beach

2020-04-07@4:40pm--#Bridgeport CT—Bridgeport Firefighters received a call for a water rescue off Pleasure Beach. Assistant Chief William Hathaway told me that two kayakers were rescued, one was in the water for about twenty minutes prior to their dispatch. Fireboat 233 was able to pull the victims out of the water. EMS took one kayaker to the hospital suffering from hypothermia. The air temperature was 65f degrees according to the Interstate race car thermometer, .seatemperature.org said the water temperature was 41f degrees. Governor Trying To Get Laptops For Students

Bridgeport News: Person Shot

UPDATE: Police have one person in custody and a firearm recovered.   2020-04-07@12:04am--#Bridgeport CT-- Initial report of a person shot on East Pipking Way turned out to be a bullet through an apartment window.  No one was shot.  A short time later police received a call that someone was shot in the 500 block of East Main Street.  Police found no victim but received a call from Bridgeport Hospital that a gunshot victim arrived at the emergency room.  Police are now investigating a possible crime scene on Steuben Street.   This news report is made possible by:

Bridgeport Silver Alert

Bridgeport Police is currently trying to locate a teenager, classified as an endangered runaway, who tends to frequent the area of downtown Bridgeport bus station. Christine Smith, 17, was described in a Silver Alert as a black female, 5 foot 6 inches, 165 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a red Tommy Hilfiger brand hoody with white, grey and orange Jordan sneakers. She has been missing since February 25, 2020 from 56 Dayton Rd. BMW of Bridgeport partnered with Bridgeport’s own 5th State Distillery who converted their operations to produce hand sanitizer. Bridgeport Firefighters continue to respond to all calls city wide with an increased call volume.
