Governor Update

·         Since yesterday’s update, an additional 35 Connecticut residents have tested positive, bringing the statewide total to 194. This includes the first case to be reported out of New London County.   ·         Governor Lamont today signed his ninth executive order pursuant to his emergency declaration, taking further actions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Connecticut. This one: o   Directs all non-essential businesses and not-for profit entities in Connecticut to prohibit all in-person functions effective Monday, March 23, 2020 at 8:00 p.m.; and o   Requires a coordinated effort between the State of Connecticut and its municipalities when responding to this emergency.   ·         The state has launched a framework for the donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Strengthening America’s Supply Chain and National Security Act

WASHINGTON—U.S. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) introduced the Strengthening America’s Supply Chain and National Security Act, bipartisan, bicameral legislation to combat America’s supply chain risk and dependence on China for pharmaceuticals. Bridgeport News: Parking Permits Being Enforced

Bridgeport News: Arrests Made

2020-#Bridgeport CT--This morning, members of the Bridgeport Police ESU team assisted Detectives Harper and Santora on executing an arrest and search warrants for Antonio Johnson Jr. DOB: 1/10/93.  The arrest warrant stems from an incident with a large group of dirt bikes and quads causing a nuisance on city streets.  The suspect Antonio Johnson Jr. DOB: 1/10/93 also threatened a Police Officer and his family.  The investigation led to obtaining an arrest warrant, with a $60,000 bond, for various threatening and motor vehicle violations and a search warrant was also obtained seeking items of evidence from the incident. Department Of Housing Changes

(Hartford) - The Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH) announced today that it has waived its policy of waiting thirty (30) days to implement an income change for the rental assistance program and federal section 8 vouchers. For the next 90 days, families already participating in the programs will have immediate adjustments for rental payment.   DOH has also increased our rapid exit and rapid rehousing funding by $735,000 to assist individuals and families leave shelters and find permanent housing. For homeless individuals over the age of 60, DOH has provided funding for 100 hotel rooms to serve 200 elderly homeless.
