State Police Arrest Man Following Incident at DMV

#Norwalk, CT (August 22, 2019): Connecticut State Police Troop G responded this morning to the Norwalk branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles after a DMV employee phoned police. The employee reported that a customer had allegedly made statements saying, "Today seems like a good day to shoot to kill" and also suggested that he would come back another time. The DMV immediately contacted Connecticut State Police. As a result of the investigation,   Gregory Plaia, date of birth 5/16/1964, of North Canaan, CT was arrested and charged with Breach of Peace 2nd Degree and Threatening 2nd Degree. Plaia was processed and later released after posting a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on 9/13/2019…

Bridgeport News: Man Shot

UPDATE: The victim was shot in his right hip/stomach area and in his left foot, non-life threatening wounds though their was some concern about a possible spinal injury.   2019-08-22 @ 3:37pm-- Police confirm that a man was shot in front of 43 Remington Street.  Police spokesperson Terron Jones said "The victim is in an unknown condition at this time and being transported to the hospital. If the victim is in serious condition, we will be sure to send an update later today or tomorrow morning".  Detectives are seen in the photo photographing shell casings and evidence on the roadway.

Bridgeport News: Kitties & Firefighters Okay!

2019-08-21 #Bridgeport CT-- Yesterday there was a fire located at 1042 Iranistan Avenue.  Originally it was reported that one firefighter and one civilian was treated at the scene.  I later learned that it was four firefighters.  I met Fire Chief Thode this afternoon and he updated us on the fire.  He said that four firefighters were treated at the scene, three were transported to the hospital and one stayed overnight at the hospital for observation.  The number one question everyone wanted to know in the comments was how were the kitties.  Chief Thode said to the best of his knowledge all the cats were accounted for and in good shape!

Fairfield News: Police Standoff

2019-08-21 @ 4:03PM--#Fairfield CT-- A complainant came to police headquarters and reported that he believed his father, was having a mental break-down at their home on Wormwood Road. The complainant stated that his father had just picked up a police report from the Westport that indicated that his wife was having an affair. When officers made contact with the respondent, he made comments that he was considering to harm himself. At this time, the respondent had barricaded himself inside the residence with several firearms. The Fairfield Police Emergency Services Unit, which included trained negotiators, were dispatched to the scene where they began negotiations for the respondent to surrender. Bridgeport News: Fire On Iranistan Avenue

2019-08-21 @ 4:30pm---#Bridgeport CT—Firefighters were called to a large house fire located at 1042 Iranistan Avenue near Fairfield Avenue. City spokesperson Terron Jones confirmed the second floor of the building collapsing. One woman was upset that here cat was inside the 3 family home. One firefighter was injured and taken to St. Vincent’ s Hospital, the extent of his injuries is not know at this time. Everyone did make it out the building safely, one civilian was also taken to the hospital. The Red Cross was also called to find housing for the occupants.
