#Westport CT--On 04/22/2019, a Westport resident received a phone call from someone purporting to work for the Social Security Administration using what appeared on the caller identification as a legitimate phone number for the Social Security Administration. The caller told the resident her social security number was being used fraudulently in another state. The caller also knew her name and correct social security number. Minutes after ending the call, later the victim received a phone call from what appeared to be the Westport Police Department non-emergency line, 203-341-6000. The caller identified himself as a Westport Police officer and said he was investigating the illegal use of the victim’s social security number. The victim was told her assets would be frozen…
On April 23 rd , 2019, the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau was conducting an investigation into bank fraud related to the theft of approximately $120,000 from an elderly person residing in Texas. The suspects in this matter were conducting these fraudulent transactions at Bankwell, located at 1 Sasco Hill Road in Southport. At approximately 4:00pm on the 23 rd , Detectives observed Carl Myers, DOB 9/24/72 of 358 Exeter Street in Bridgeport enter the bank. When Myers was confronted by detectives, he drew a pistol which he had concealed in his pants. #Trumbull CT-- On Tuesday, April 16, Trumbull Police charged a Bridgeport woman for leaving her children unattended in a motor vehicle that was parked at the Hawley Lane Mall. A passerby observed two small children that were left unattended, which led to the arrest of Yonneisha Reed, 29 years old of Bridgeport. Reed’s two children, ages two and four, were left inside of a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander, which was parked in the Hawley Lane mall parking lot.
