Westport Veterans Day Services Announced

#Westport, Conn. - William Vornkahl, President of the Westport Veterans Council, announced that the Town of Westport will hold Veterans Day services on Sunday, November 11 in the Town Hall auditorium. The public is invited. At 1:30 pm, the Westport Community Band will present a “Patriotic Salute to All Veterans” program which will include marches and patriotic tunes. In recognition of the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day, the Community Band will include songs from the World War I era. The services will begin at 2:00 pm. Open Enrollment For Health Coverage

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim  is reminding residents that Open Enrollment for health coverage has begun and runs until December 15, 2018. Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Connecticut residents can apply for health insurance through Access Health CT.   “I encourage all residents in need of health coverage to apply as soon as possible,” said Mayor Ganim. “We have entered into the flu season and it is important that you and your family members are insured in the case of illness. It is also the time to consider other health insurance providers. Bridgeport News: 1 In Custody After Pursuit

11:39pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police have one in custody after a pursuit down Fairfield Avenue. The car crashed into the gates of PT Barnum Housing on Wordin Avenue just after St. Stephen's Road. The suspect allegedly ran a red light in front of police officers causing a crash involving civilians. The suspect ran into the housing project where he was captured by police near building eight. Paramedics transported the suspect to the hospital with unknown injuries as a result of the crash.
