3:38pm--A dispute over a scooter lead to shots fired and the bullet found an innocent bystander. A white van was seen fleeing the scene. The victim was shot in the leg near building six of PT Barnum Housing near Bird Street.
The Bridgeport Police Department is seeking assistance identifying the suspect and witnesses in this surveillance video. Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service(WVEMS) will be offering two open houses for the public during the month of September.The local non-profit, founded in 1979, is excited to welcome the public into their headquarterson Saturday, September 15th from 3:00PM - 6:00PM or on Sunday, September 23rd from 3:00PM - 6:00PM. Their headquarters is located at 50 Jesup Road, Westport (also Westport Police Headquarters). Attendees can access the Open House from the ambulance bays, located behind the building. The open houses will allow community members and families to "drop-in" and learn about the WVEMS tradition of saving lives, which has been funded by donations for nearly 40 years. EMS volunteers will give tours of their facility and show their life saving ambulances…
On 09/05/2018 at 4:37pm, a resident on Sterling Street reported that earlier that morning she received a suspicious package in the mail containing over $4,000 in cash. Officers responded to investigate and determined that earlier in the day, the package was handed off to a male who was wearing a FedEx shirt who said the package was improperly delivered. The resident gave the package to the male but thought it was suspicious and called the police to report it. On 09/06/2018 at 7:35am the same resident called 911 to report that there was a package delivered to her door again and she can see a male walking away from his vehicle approaching her house.
