Bridgeport News: Homicide Arrest

On Friday, August 3, 2018, Detective Cintron arrested Brent Whiteman (DOB: 9/30/1978 of 332 Dogwood Drive, Bridgeport) and served him with an arrest warrant charging him with the February 8, 2017 murder of his wife's uncle, Robert Jones. Whiteman's wife, Tynisha Hall, is currently awaiting trial for her role in the murder. Whiteman and Hall were the care-givers for the 61-year-old victim, who was disabled and unable to live on his own. Recent evidence revealed that Whiteman and Hall routinely abused Jones, until he succumbed to the physical abuse last February. Whiteman is charged with Murder, Abuse of Person in the First Degree, Risk of Injury to a Child, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He is being held on a…

Stratford News: Shooting UPDATE:

The Stratford Police Department is investigating a drive by shooting that occurred on Woodend Road on 08-07-2018 at approximately 7pm. One victim was shot as a result of a drive by and the suspects fled the scene in what appears to be a silver car, possibly a HONDA. The car in question has a distinctive black front bumper. The shooter and vehicle fled south on Woodend Road after the incident.   The lone shooting victim is a 16 year old male who was playing basketball on the courts. He has been treated at Bridgeport Hospital and is in good condition. Investigators are following up on several leads. Stratford News: 16 Year Old Shot

7:00PMish-- Stratford Police were called to the basketball courts on Woodend Road near Leeward Drive for a 16 year old who was shot. The boy was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. The condition of the boy is unknown. Radio reports say the police are looking for a silver or gray Honda with three males inside. Police are still gathering information and will update us as more information becomes available.

Bridgeport News: Hawk Captured In Bridgeport

6:16pm---#Bridgeport CT-- A hawk that has been terrorizing the neighborhood on East Main and Hickory Street was captured in the 200 block of Hickory Street by a DEEP Wildlife Conservation Officer. He was assisted by Bridgeport Animal Control and Bridgeport Police. Police received a number of calls for the hawk swooping down on people throughout the day. Two witnesses told me that the hawk did not appear to be attacking but trying to land on them, but the hawk's sharp talons wound up injuring them. One person was admitted to the hospital around 1pm.
