Ganim: State Should Pursue Internet Sales Tax

BRIDGEPORT – Bridgeport Mayor and Democratic candidate for governor Joe Ganim is calling for the use some or all of new Internet sales tax revenue to provide property tax relief for Connecticut cities and towns. A U.S. Supreme Court ruling yesterday allows states to collect sales tax from Internet companies without a brick and mortar location in that state. The ruling could mean up to $200 million dollars in new annual revenue for the state of Connecticut during difficult economic times. “This ruling is a huge victory for Connecticut. Classic Car Show Each Saturday Night At Bill’s Drive-In

#Monroe CT-- If you are looking for something fun to do on a Saturday night head up to Bill's Drive Inn at 431 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe (Route 111) for some good food and a classic car show hosted by the Monroe Street Rodders. I enjoyed the classic burger and fries while my wife enjoyed the chili hot dog. #Westport To Host UN Event

The annual  jUNe Day event will take place on Saturday, June 23rd, in Westport. The United Nations Association of Southwestern Connecticut (UNASWCT) and the Town of Westport will host over 300 guests from the United Nations community in New York. The public is invited to attend the opening ceremonies and welcome our international guests at Saugatuck Elementary School on Riverside Avenue at 10:30 a.m.  Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe and UNA President Bill Hass will welcome the guests, and jUNe Day Chairperson Michaela Maccoll will outline the Day’s activities.
