Pursuit Update

#Bridgeport CT-- In a story you saw first on DoingItLocal, a pursuit that began in Bridgeport and into Brookfield, state police apprehended two later in the day.   State police said the entered the pursuit while in Newtown but they lost sight of the white Honda.   Around 7:10, the pursuit began around 6:30 in Bridgeport.  The vehicle was seen near exit 14 of Route 84 and engaged in pursuit to exit 17 around exit 14 when it entered Route 8 south of Waterbury.  The Honda crashed on Charles Street off exit 30 and the occupants fled on foot.  Waterbury Police and a State Police K9 located the suspect who ran to a neighboring home to evade the police.  Police was alerted…

#Norwalk CT--Norwalk Detectives are seeking the public's assistance with identifying the pictured male. The male was involved in a theft at the Marshalls on Westport Avenue. During the commission of this crime, he was confronted by loss prevention. The male then pulled out a pair of scissors and threatened the employee. The Mobi-Mat is an eco-friendly, high quality, outdoor access surface which brings tactical agility to unstable grounds for aging people with walkers or canes, wheelchair-bound people, and parents with strollers. Westport CT-- The Westport Police Department successfully brought awareness to area residents during its annual Click It or Ticket high-visibility seat belt enforcement campaign, held May 21st-June 3rd, writing a total of 37 citations for seat belt violations in the process. The campaign, which coincided with one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year, was twofold: combine increased enforcement, and a zero-tolerance policy with effective communication to road users on the importance of seat belt use. “This year’s Click It or Ticket campaign was a real success,” said Captain David Farrell “Through our enforcement efforts, we believe we helped keep community members safe and reminded drivers of the importance of buckling up.
