Bridgeport News: Fire On Da Roof

10:55pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called for a fire at Holland Avenue and Fairfield Avenue. They located a fire on the roof of 65 Holland Avenue, the Fusco Company. The firefighters had to get through a chained link fence to gain entry. Once the made entry it was only a few minutes before the fire was extinguished. Firefighters had to force entry to the building to ensure the fire did not spread inside the building which it did not. The fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire.

Bridgeport News: Shots Fired

6:55pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating a shots fired incident at Park and Harral Avenue.  Radio reports said one person arrived at Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle shot in the leg.  A witness said they thought two people were shot.  This is breaking news and none of this info has been confirmed.  It is subject to change.  If I get any updates I'll post it here.

Fairfield News: Cop First On Scene Of Fire

#Fairfield CT-- A Fairfield School Resource Police Officer was first on the scene of a fire this morning. Officer Mike Guilfoyle was at the intersection of Putting Green and Harvester Road when awoman on her phone flagged him down and said her house was on fire. Officer Guilfoyle had noticed white smoke coming out the front door and notified the Emergency Communications Center of the situation and the fire department was dispatched. He also made sure everyone was out of the building but made a sweep of the building to make sure no one was inside. He noticed the putrid smoke was getting thicker but saw no flames and he had closed the door as instructed by the fire department.…

Westport News: Duck Rescue

#Westport CT-- On Monday, Westport Fire Department dispatchers received numerous calls for an animal rescue on I95. A family of ducks had been observed trying to navigate I95 at rush hour, resulting in nine ducklings falling into a storm drain.   Rescue 3 and the Shift Commander responded to I95 North to provide assistance, meeting up with CT State Police Troopers just prior to exit 17. A DOT Safety Patrol vehicle provided critical barrier protection for those working on the highway.   Firefighters used a variety of hand tools, hydraulic rescue tools and metering equipment to gain access to the storm drain.
