Electorial College Overturned in Connecticut

HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman released the following statements in response to the 21-14 vote in the State Senate this afternoon giving final approval to legislation opting Connecticut into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, under which Connecticut will allocate its electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the most popular votes.  This compact does not take effect until enough states sign on to guarantee that the national popular vote winner wins the presidency. “With the exception of the presidency, every elected office in the country, from city council, to United States senator, to governor, is awarded the candidate who receives the most votes,” Governor Malloy said.  “The vote of every American citizen…

Norwalk News: Shooting/Robbery Arrest

#Norwalk CT--On October 12, 2012, at 1:40 PM, the Norwalk Police responded to Stop & Shop at 385 Connecticut Avenue for a person that had been shot. Officers found that the female victim had been shot during a robbery and sustained serious injuries. Detectives developed numerous leads and gathered physical evidence to aid them in their investigation. As the result of new information, Terrance Police was developed as a suspect. With the assistance of the State Of Connecticut Forensic Laboratory, Police was linked to the crime through DNA. Detective Podgorski obtained an arrest warrant for Police. Westport, CT - Director of Human Services Elaine Daignault announces the return of the American Job Center Southwest’s (formerly known as CTWorks) Career Coach at Westport Town Hall.  On Thursday, May 10, 2018 the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft Excel 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.  The Career Coach is a “training center” tour bus equipped with ten wireless computer labs offering free computer classes to residents in the greater Norwalk area.  The mobile unit operates on a monthly schedule of visits to various community locations and is accessible to people with disabilities.  Area residents interested in registering should contact the Westport Department of Human Services at 203-341-1050 or…

Westport News: Employee Theft

#Westport CT--On 03/12/18, officers were dispatched to Whole Foods on a report of an employee theft. Officers spoke with Loss Prevention and learned Jenisa Serrano had stolen approximately $1,600 from the store. Serrano made approximately 100 fraudulent returns, refunds and voided cash transactions since January of this year. The investigating officer submitted an arrest warrant application for Serrano, which was later granted. On 04/30/2018, Serrano turned herself in at police headquarters on the outstanding warrant. She was charged with 53a-125 Larceny 4 th and released after posting $7,500 bond. Serrano is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on 05/09/2018.   This press release was made possible by:

Westport News: Multiple Charges

#Westport CT--On 05/04/2018 at approximately 9:00am, officers were dispatched to 275 Post Road East on a report of a domestic disturbance in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers learned the female victim had struck the male victim multiple times outside of a parked vehicle. At one point in the argument, the female victim was standing on the sill plate of the vehicle and the male victim took off at a high rate of speed, throwing the female victim from the vehicle. The female victim sustained a minor head injury from impact with the pavement. The male victim was not injured. Bridgeport New: Cops And Barbers

#Bridgeport CT-- On Thursday, the Bridgeport Police met with the community at VIP Barbershop at 464 Huntington Turnpike (same plaza as the 50's Diner).   Police said a number of people from the community came out to visit and enjoy free pizza from Vazzy's Restaurant.  When I asked what was on their mind they said there were no real questions, it was primarily an opportunity to start a dialogue.  Police said they will be having this from time to time in different areas of town.   DoingItLocal also plans on having future Facebook Live with the community to field questions they might have.  We also plan on having community talks hosted by VIP Barbershop.  I'll keep you posted!
