Norwalk News: Stolen Vehicle Strikes Police Car And Flees

#Norwalk CT--On January 23, 2018, at 3:05am, officers from the Patrol Division responded to an address on Assisi Way for a stolen motor vehicle complaint. The stolen vehicle description was immediately broadcast to all patrol units. Moments later an officer observed the stolen Chevy pickup traveling southbound on the Route 7 Connector. The vehicle entered I-95 southbound and then pulled to a stop on the exit 14 off-ramp. As the officer pulled behind the truck, it suddenly accelerated back into the front of the police car. The officer then activated his lights and siren, however, the vehicle fled. TRUMBULL POLICE OFFICERS AWARDED FOR THEIR LIFE-SAVING EFFORTS

#Trumbull CT--Six Trumbull Police Officers have been the presented with the “Life Saving” award during a recent ceremony conducted by Trumbull EMS. The six officers were recognized for providing critical medical intervention as First Responders, after being dispatched to four (4) separate medical emergencies last year. In each of the four (4) incidents, an individual had suffered a serious medical condition and had gone into cardiac arrest, where both the heart and breathing had stopped. The officers performed CPR and utilized the portable AED, all in attempts to restart the patients’ hearts. With the assistance and continuing care of ambulance crews from Trumbull EMS and transport to local hospitals, all four (4) patients survived the events and were later discharged…

Westport News: Whole Foods Fire

#Westport CT-- Last night, Westport Firefighters was dispatched to a report of a kitchen fire at Whole Foods Market at 7:04 PM. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company and the Command Car were on the initial dispatch. Additionally, one Engine from Norwalk Fire was sent to the scene. Arriving firefighters found the store to be occupied and had the building evacuated. The source of the fire was found to be improperly stored combustibles on top of a pizza oven. The fire activated the kitchen hood system extinguishing agent, extinguishing any fire in the ductwork. Store employees extinguished the remaining burning combustibles prior to the Fire departments arrival. Firefighters secured the utilities to the oven and laddered the building to check…
