#Stratford CT– The Stratford Health Department is sponsoring a flu clinic on Monday, October 16th, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the EMS Training Room, 2712 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615. The flu clinic, which will be superhero themed, is open to children, adults, and seniors. With crafts, goody bags, and costumes it’ll make getting the annual vaccine hassle-free!
“The flu virus differs each year”, says Bernice Bova, RN Public Health Nursing Supervisor, adding “getting your annual flu vaccine is the most important way to lower your risk of getting sick and spreading it to your friends and family.”
No appointments are necessary for this superhero-themed clinic. All vaccines will be given on a first come, first served basis. The Stratford Health Department offers the standard flu vaccine for ages 6 months and over, as well as the high dose vaccine for individuals over 65 years of age. Parents or guardians must accompany their children.
Insurances accepted for flu vaccines include Medicare Part B, Anthem BC/BS, Connecticare, Cigna and Aetna. United Healthcare and Oxford are NOT accepted. All others will be charged a $35.00 fee for the standard flu vaccine and $65.00 fee for the high dose vaccine, payable by cash or check. The pneumonia vaccine will also be available and cost $190.00 if not covered by insurance.
