Norwalk News: House Fire

Norwalk Fire Department Press Release--Norwalk Fire responded to a house fire at 18 Nash pl. FD was met with heavy fire showing from the front door and rear windows on the first floor. The fire started in the kitchen area and spread to the entire first floor. The first floor is gutted and the second floor sustained heat and smoke damage. This was a two story two-family home. One side was posted unfit for occupancy and displaced a family of three. Red cross provided shelter for the night. There were no injuries . Southport News: Police/Fire Rescue Horse From Swimming Pool

4:24pm-- #Fairfield CT-- A horse found its way into the gated off area of a swimming pool and must have thought the covered pool was safe to walk on but it fell in.  Firefighters told me the homeowner had worked to keep the horse's head above the water until first responders arrived.  Police officer Greg Gunther was first on the scene and aided the firefighters in getting the horse to the shallow end of the pool.   Firefighters had the horse out of the pool in a matter of minutes.  The horse had a long face over the incident but had a tale to tell the other horses.

Fairfield News: Halloween Costume Parade

The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Fairfield Museum and the Town of Fairfield, is happy to announce its family Halloween costume parade in conjunction with the Halloween on the Green on Sunday, October 29th. The parade will start at 12:30pm, with the First Selectman leading the parade as the Grand Marshal. The Fairfield Chamber will award 10 prizes for outstanding and creative costumes.   Participants in the parade will line-up behind the Burr Mansion beginning at 12pm. Bridgeport News: Three Officers Receive Merit Award

#Bridgeport CT-- On October 17, 2017, Chief Armando Perez with the Board of Police Commissioners presented three Bridgeport Police officers with the Merit Award for Excellent Arrest. This was the first award ceremony under a new procedure that will award officers for their accomplishments on an expedited basis.   The Merit Award for Excellent Arrest may be awarded to any sworn member of the Department who makes an exceptional arrest of a felon who is a danger to the community, using diligence and professionalism in the performance of his duty. The award consists of a citation bar and a copy of the citation. The officers receiving the Excellent Arrest Award are: Officer Anthony Caiazzo, Sergeant Niestemski and Officer Douglas Bepko.…
