10:23am–#Fairfield CT– Police said a woman choked her eight year old daughter, thinking she had killed her she then went into the basement to take her own life.  Police received a medical call from the daughter concerned for her mother’s safety.  After a brief search of the home at 271 Barlow Road police located the mother who had hung herself.    Responding officers found the daughter with non-life threatening injuries consistent with strangulation.  The girl was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.  One June 24, 2015 the woman’s husband drove across the street to Fairfield University and hung himself in a tree.
