Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim is touting the substantive accomplishments of the Mayor’s Initiative on Re-entry Affairs (MIRA), a comprehensive city government program launched by Mayor Ganim in August 2016 to help formerly incarcerated individuals in Bridgeport advance their careers and establish new lives. When the program launched, city officials managing the MIRA program estimated they would reach 50 returning citizens in the first few months. Instead, MIRA has engaged with more than 155 returning citizens from Bridgeport more than doubling this prediction by engaging with 139 returning citizens from the City of Bridgeport, and enrolling more than 120 into the program. Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport Snow Emergency is still in effect today, February 10, 2017 to allow for continued citywide snow clean up. During the snow emergency, residents must move their cars off posted snow emergency streets. Alternate side of the street parking rules are in effect as of 12:00 p.m. today for all other streets throughout the city in order to allow snow plow drivers’ clear passage. Alternate side parking will be in effect until further notice. Snow emergency streets are marked with white signs with red lettering. 10:09am--#Bridgeport Connecticut--#cttraffic-- A car traveling northbound on Route 8/25 near between exits 3 and 4 came off the highway and down the embankment onto Grand Street. The person was able to get themselves out of the car, there is no word any injuries. If you look at the picture and follow the car's tracks you will see there is no damage to the guard rail, the car appears to have gone up and over the snow bank over the guardrail.
#Fairfield Connecticut--How about some likes for Officer McGrath and the guys from Fairfield Fire Department Engine 2 for shoveling an elderly male's walkway after he suffered a medical emergency. An 86 year old man was attempting to shovel his driveway when he suffered a medical emergency. After EMS transported the man to the hospital the officer and firefighters finished shoveling his drive.
3:49pm--#Milford Connecticut-- #cttraffic-- A crash involving a tractor trailer with a leaking saddle tank I-95 southbound near exit 39B. Firefighters have the flow under control. Delays are not too bad.
1:01pm--#Fairfield Connecticut--#cttraffic-- I-95 southbound between exits 19 and 20 the highway is down to one lane as a tractor trailer has jackknifed and ruptured it's fuel saddle tank. DOT called to the scene. Visibility is poor, expect major backups.
