Westport News: Traffic Stop Nets Numerous Charges

#Westport Connecticut--On 02/10/17 at approximately 4:30pm, Westport Officer David Scinto observed a gray Mercedes sedan traveling south on Myrtle Avenue with cancelled registration plates that belong on a Volvo. The vehicle was stopped, and the operator was identified as George Wilson. A check of Wilson showed his driving privileges were suspended. Wilson also had a Failure to Appear warrant out of Troop G, State Police. Wilson was taken into custody and processed for the above listed charges. Wilson was issued a court date of 02/21/2017 at Norwalk Court. Wilson posted the $7,500 bond and was released. (Westport Police Press Release)

How about some likes for Firefighter Branson who returned home from military service?!! #Westport Connecticut--Today is a special day for the Westport Fire Department. Firefighter James “Doc” Branson, who recently returned from a 375 day deployment to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the United State Marines as an advisor with Security Cooperation Team-Jordan. The Westport Fire Department celebrated his return by taking down the “Blue Star Flag” which flew at Westport Fire Headquarters during his time overseas. FF Branson returned to duty with the department this week. Firefighter Branson is a Navy Corpsman. Westport News: Undocumented Pharmacist At Staples High School

#Westport Connecticut--On 02/07/17 at approximately 1:15pm, Westport Officers responded to Staples High School, 70 North Avenue, on a report of a narcotics  violation. Officers were informed that two students were using cocaine in the bathroom. Officers interviewed Cameron Cleary (18 years of age), who admitted to selling cocaine to a juvenile student and snorting it with the juvenile in the bathroom. Cleary was taken into custody and processed for the above listed charges. The suspected cocaine was seized and tested positive for cocaine.
