Ganim: City of Bridgeport Now Fining O&G Industries $100 per Day for Blight Violations

State Police Task Force Arrests Convicted Felon for Firearms Possession

#Bridgeport, CT. (August 8, 2016): State Police and Bridgeport Police detectives assigned to the Connecticut State Police Gang Unit arrested a convicted felon for possession of a firearm. On August 8, 2016 the Connecticut State Police Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force (SUVCCCTF)/Gang Unit, which consists of Connecticut State Police detectives and Bridgeport Police detectives, with assistance from the Connecticut State Police Statewide Organized Crime Investigative Task Force (SOCITF), and detectives from the Bridgeport Police Department, apprehended convicted felon Raul Zayas, on an active felony warrant held by the Bridgeport Police Department for firearm-related offenses. Bridgeport News: Arrest Made In City Hall Annex Lockdown

This evening Marvin Owens was taken into custody at 1064 Iranistan Avenue based upon an Assault 3rd and Threatening warrant stemming from a domestic violence incident earlier in the year. Owens is a suspect in today's threat incident at city hall and he was interviewed extensively. We obtained cellphone records for three phones that Owens owns, interviewed his estranged wife and his brother, and obtained and reviewed the 911 recordings from today's call to dispatch. Unfortunately at this time, we do not have probable cause to charge him with any crimes concerning today's incident. Owens was processed and has a $5000 bond for the warrant charges.
