Norwalk News: Man Shot

On July 23, 2016 at 12:43 am, the Norwalk Police Department responded to the area of 68 Winfield Street for a report of shots fired. Arriving officers located numerous people in the area due to a house party. Officers also located shell casings in front of 68 Winfield Street. A short time later Norwalk Hospital reported a male had arrived from Winfield Street suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Bridgeport News: Woman Shot

11:33pm--#Bridgeport Connecticut--A police officer on patrol on Howard Avenue heard a shot fired in the 900 block of Howard Avenue.  The officer saw a car attempting to leave at a high rate of speed and was able to pull him over and take him in to custody.  Witnesses told me the woman was shot in a backyard, possibly accidentally when the gun was dropped.  Police quickly located a clip of 40mm caliber and a short time later retrieved the gun.  I do not know where on her body the woman was shot or her condition.

Norwalk News: Child Abuse Arrest

#Norwalk Connecticut--On July 21, 2016, the Norwalk Department of Police Service arrested Pedro Salinas at theNorwalk Courthouse where he was appearing on another criminal matter. The Special Victims Unit began an investigation on May 26, 2016 after receiving a report of child abuse from the Department of Children and Families. The investigation revealed that a two-year-old female had been brought to the Norwalk Hospital after suffering what was believed to be medical  condition. The child was later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital due to the seriousness of the child’s condition. SVU Detectives learned that the child had been living with family at Salinas’s residence and that Salinas had assaulted the child causing serious injuries. Grease Is The Word In Westport

On 07/18/16 at approximately 10:00am, Westport Officers were dispatched to the rear of Five Guys Restaurant on a report of theft of cooking oil. Responding units were given a description of the suspect vehicle as a white van with New York license plates. Upon the Officers arrival, they found suspects Alondra Aracil and Jonathan Garces actively siphoning cooking oil from the tank. Aracil and Garces were taken into custody. Aracil gave a fake name and date of birth which resulted in the additional charge of Criminal Impersonation. (Westport Police Press Release)
