#Norwalk Connectictut–On June 6, 2016, the Norwalk Department of Police Service Marine Unit investigated a boating incident in the Norwalk Harbor. An investigation conducted by the Marine Unit revealed that a boat had driven through a clearly marked dive zone near the Walk Bridge.  Fortunately, the divers, who were working on the Walk Bridge Project, were not struck by the boat. The operator of the boat was located and subsequently cited for the violation.

Divers are expected to be working near the Walk Bridge for the next two weeks, so boaters are reminded to be aware of their surroundings and to use caution near the Connecticut General Statute 15-135(c) states no person shall operate a vessel or cause any person on water skis to pass within one hundred feet of a device marking the location of an underwater swimmer or diver.
