#Norwalk Connecticut–The Norwalk Department of Police Service participated in the statewide crack down on distracted driving during the month of April. Fifteen teams, consisting of five officers, were deployed for a total of twelve days from April 4 through April 26, 2016. The total violations cited are as follows:

1 distracted driving violation     1 DUI arrest made, driver had an outstanding arrest warrant      7 driving too fast for conditions (raining or snowing)

4 drivers found operating while under suspension      67 assorted moving violations

Total: 367 arrests or citations.

The total expense for the operation was $24,297.72 with the State of Connecticut Department of

Transportation Highway Safety Office reimbursing $18,487.53.
