#Fairfield, CT – State Police at Troop G-Bridgeport are seeking the help of the public in identifying two suspects who used counterfeit money at the Fairfield rest area last week. On Jan. 29, 2016, Troopers responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts inside the Interstate 95 Northbound Service Area in Fairfield. An employee reported that a male customer had paid with a suspected counterfeit twenty dollar bill. About ten minutes later, a second male suspect also attempted to pass a counterfeit twenty dollar bill to a different employee, but was unsuccessful. Troopers responding to the scene immediately determined that the first bill was counterfeit.
