#Fairfield CT–For the 9th year in a row, McKinley has participated in paying tribute to American Workers, past, present, and future.
Led by art teacher, Kathleen Reddy, and visiting artist, Ellen Griesedieck, this year’s class painted mini canvases, dividing the mural subject matter into small fragments. The 79 participants will put the reassembled pieces together with some mounted out in front to simulate the 3-D aspect and spirit of the larger mural.
This is a very special year for AMP having just successfully matched the Governor’s Challenge. In May, the McKinley graduating class will visit the Winsted mill where the finished artwork will be installed. This will likely be the last class to visit before construction begins this summer, raising the mill roof to a full 60 feet to accommodate the height of the finished mural.
