#Fairfield, CT – State Police at Troop G-Bridgeport are seeking the help of the public in identifying two suspects who used counterfeit money at the Fairfield rest area last week.

On Jan. 29, 2016, Troopers responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts inside the Interstate 95 Northbound Service Area in Fairfield. An employee reported that a male customer had paid with a suspected counterfeit twenty dollar bill. About ten minutes later, a second male suspect also attempted to pass a counterfeit twenty dollar bill to a different employee, but was unsuccessful.

Troopers responding to the scene immediately determined that the first bill was counterfeit. The first suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties, weighing about 130 pounds, with dark skin, a tattoo over his right eye, downward on his face. He was last seen wearing a burgundy jogging suit, with “Rhode Island College” printed on the hooded sweatshirt and a gold-colored winter hat.

The second suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties, stockier build, approximately 5’6” tall, last seen wearing black pants and a black short-sleeve shirt.

State Police ask the public to help identify these two suspects. Please contact Trooper Lund at Troop G at (203) 696-2500 with information. All calls will be kept confidential.
