11:25am–#Trumbull CT–Fifteen people were treated on scene and three people were taken to the hospital after a chemical spill at Vaughn Family Dentistry at 2 Corprate Drive.

Firefighters say a spill of the liquid form of formocresol spilled on the leg of a nurse while the material was being prepared. The chemical is used to control pulpal bleeding and it contains formaldahyde. A triage area was set up in the building next door to keep those affected out of the cold.

Firefighters consulted with Fairfield County Hazmat and Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection to ensure they were using proper procedures. The spill was cleaned up and firefighters ventilated and the building was reopened to the public.
