Trumbull News: 18 Treated In Chemical Spill

11:25am--#Trumbull CT--Fifteen people were treated on scene and three people were taken to the hospital after a chemical spill at Vaughn Family Dentistry at 2 Corprate Drive. Firefighters say a spill of the liquid form of formocresol spilled on the leg of a nurse while the material was being prepared. The chemical is used to control pulpal bleeding and it contains formaldahyde. A triage area was set up in the building next door to keep those affected out of the cold. Firefighters consulted with Fairfield County Hazmat and Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection to ensure they were using proper procedures. The spill was cleaned up and firefighters ventilated and the building was reopened to the public.

Governor Attends President’s Gun Violence Prevention Announcement
