Bridgeport Police Promotions

Bridgeport – The Bridgeport Police Department this week promoted eighteen officers to higher rank at a ceremony held at Bridgeport City Hall Annex.  The officers were sworn into their new positions by Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, accompanied by Police Chief Joseph Gaudett.   “These outstanding officers represent the highest level of professionalism and put their lives on the line to keep Bridgeport residents safe day in and day out,” said Mayor Ganim.  “I am very proud to promote our officers to higher rank.  You have earned all the accolades, and your hard work has paid off.  You truly are Bridgeport’s finest!”   Mayor Ganim also announced that the city has committed to hiring 100 new police officers to fill out…

Affordable Housing Opens In Bridgeport

Fairfield First Responders Play I Spy

11:17am--#Fairfield CT-- A woman along with her alleged drunk boyfriend sleeping on the jetty calls police not knowing where she is. She remembers driving down a long driveway.  She reads to the dispatcher " Members Only Private Beach" and buoy 22 and a man walking a dog on the beach at a distance as her clues to first responders.  Police locate her and the boyfriend at the  Country Club of Fairfield at 936 Sasco Hill Road.  Police had to slowly walk to the boyfriend off the jeddy while EMS worked their way to him.   First responders win this round I Spy with no major issues.   This was no jeddy mind trick.   This report is made possible by:

Fire Victim Donations

#Bridgeport CT--The Shipyard located at 837 Seaview Avenue will accept all Charles Street and Frenchtown Road Fire Victim families to collect clothing and furnishings through Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 10am to 1pm. After the needs of the victims and their families are met, City of Bridgeport Mayor’s office will hold a Citywide Community Outreach distribution of remaining items on Saturday, January 16, 2015 from 10am to 1pm at the Shipyard.

Trumbull News: Firefighters Battle House Fire

11:45am--#Trumbull CT--At approximately 11:45am Friday an off duty firefighter called 911 of a house with heavy smoke at 15 Sunnycrest Road. On arrival firefighters were met with heavy fire in the back of the deck as seen in this photo that was provided by a viewer. Firefighters were concerned with a propane tank which was removed. The fire quickly spread throughout the house but firefighters quick work kept the fire from becoming a complete loss. The house was empty at the time of the fire and the homeowner was distraught not only because of the fire but also the loss of her French bulldog Molly. Two firefighters suffered non life threatening injuries battling the blaze. The fire was brought under…

Bridgeport News: Recovered Stolen Car After Short Pursuit

8:42pm---#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police were able to recover a stolen car ten minutes after it was taken after it spun out on Fairfield Avenue.  There was a short manhunt and the man was found behind a backyard in the 200 block of Colorado Avenue.  Like one officer said to me it was good to find the car so quickly since most people only have one car to get them to and from work.
