Fairfield News: Police Pusuit

2:28pm--#Fairfield CT--A police pursuit from Black Rock Turnpike to Fairfield Woods now being terminated.  The suspect was wanted in a possible fraud in the drive thru at People's Bank at 1940 Black Rock Turnpike.  It was a white Nissan Murano with plates 176RWX which is a stolen plate.  I spoke with Lt. Perez who said pursuits that involve property only are terminated out of concern to the public and that the courts have ruled against towns in police pursuits that involve just property (non assault on people).  Lt. Fairfield Commercial Truck Safety Enforcement

Over the past few years, the Fairfield Police Department has recognized an increase in commercial motor vehicle traffic on our roads. On Tuesday 11/3/15, The Fairfield Police Traffic Unit worked in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police Truck Squad to conduct Commercial Truck Safety Enforcement in the beach area of the Town of Fairfield. The Fairfield Police Traffic Unit encompasses four traffic safety officers along with two supervisors who enforce all traffic laws in the town of Fairfield, and The Connecticut State Police Truck Squad primarily focuses their efforts throughout the state assisting other municipalities. Our enforcement effort resulted in sixteen traffic stops/inspections which lead to over $16,000 worth of infractions that were handed out. These infractions covered violations such…

Bridgeport Police Department Asks for Public Assistance with Bicycle Theft

#Bridgeport, Conn. (November 9, 2015) – Today, the Bridgeport Police Department is asking for public assistance in finding a suspect who physically assaulted a juvenile, and stole his bicycle. On Sunday, November 8, police officers responded to a call regarding a strong arm robbery outside of an establishment near the corner of Ogden St. and Noble Ave. Upon arrival, police officers were told by the victim – who is a juvenile – that he parked his bike outside of the establishment, and went inside for a purchase.
