Bridgeport Police Department Investigates Non-Fatal Shooting

#Bridgeport, Conn. (October 14, 2015) -- The Bridgeport Police Department responded to a non-fatal shooting incident in which two people were wounded.  At approximately 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, police officers responded to a call regarding an alleged shooting incident near the corner of Mildner Dr. and Union Ave.  Upon arrival at the scene, police were made aware that two people had been shot, and the victims already were transported to Bridgeport Hospital in a private vehicle.  After contacting the hospital, police were made aware that the first victim -- an 18 year-old white male from Milford -- suffered a gunshot wound to the right shoulder and one to the chest. Heather Elizabeth Bernard, lost her mother to breast cancer in 2008. She has been participating in multiple cancer awareness events through out her life. This year Heather is participating in AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer. She will be training to strengthen her body to walk over 39 miles in two days.
