Bridgeport CT–Man Arrested For Leaving Child Overnight In Car

Bridgeport, Conn. (September 16, 2015) – Today, the Bridgeport Police Department announced the arrest of a man who left a three-year-old child in a vehicle overnight. Jeffrey Mejias, Jr. (DOB 03/06/93) has been charged with risk of injury to a child. His bond has been set at $20,000.  On September 12, 2015 at 7:00 a.m., a 911 call came in from a woman stating that she found a three-year-old child in a motor vehicle on Arctic St. who was left there overnight. A witness at the scene of the incident stated that she saw the child in the vehicle, crouching in the middle section of the vehicle between the front and back seats.  The witness called 911 and was told to see…

Bridgeport News: 2 Shooting Incidents

Here are two press releases from the City of Bridgeport:   Bridgeport, Conn. (September 16, 2015) -- Today, Bridgeport Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding shots fired near the corner of Daniels Ave. and Trumbull Ave.  Upon arrival at the reported scene, police officers did not find a victim or suspect. The location of the alleged incident is not too far from several schools, and, as a matter of precaution, following the 911 call about the alleged incident police called for a temporary lockdown of Hallen School, Park City Magnet School, and Wilbur Cross School. The lockdown at each school was lifted minutes after police arrived at the alleged scene only to find no trace of a victim or suspect. Detectives…

Fairfield News: Untimely Death Investigation In Cemetery

#Fairfield CT-- Early this afternoon a person called 911 for an unconscious person in the Lawncroft Burial Park on Black Rock Turnpike.  Police confirmed they are investigating an untimely death and had the area blocked off until the medical examiner took the body.   The body was on a stone wall towards the Candlewood Road area of the cemetery.  No identity or cause of death has been released at this time.
