8amish--#Bridgeport CT--Police spokesman William Kaempffer confirmed an armed man was taken into custody near the Duchess Restaurant on Boston Avenue. Kaempffer could not confirm a report I received that the man was on his way to guard the recruiting station nearby. The man had in his possession a shotgun, a handgun and a knife. Citizens and militia have been protecting and guarding recruiting offices since the shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee. If anyone knows the man on Boston Avenue please have him call me at 203-769-6961, I would be interested in telling his side of the story. 11:31am--#Fairfield CT--Police are investigating an accident between a bicycle and car on the Post Road. A car was exiting the Minekie Car Care when she collided with a bicyclist on the sidewalk, bike riding on the sidewalk in Fairfield is not illegal. I'm told the man drove by bike from Stratford and was on his way to volunteer at Operation Hope. He did not suffer any injuries in the mishap. I heard him apologizing to the driver of the car when I left the scene.
