There was to be an announcement about public safety initiatives, yesterday's press release said.“Public safety is our top priority in Bridgeport,” said Mayor Finch. “The city is safer than it has been in 40 years, and we’re working to do even better. The future of our kids and grandkids is at stake.” I was hoping to hear about the mounted patrols.

Tatiana Julitta Maldonado sent in this photo of the Bridgeport Mounted Patrol patrolling Trumbull Garden's today. I requested an interview regarding this and Bridgeport Police Department pressperson Tim Hammoll said the captain in charge of the mounted patrol said the patrol is being used throughout the city. There is a 1pm press conference in Chief Gaudette's office tomorrow public safety initiatives so I'll keep you posted.
