On Thursday May 21st, 2015 Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress to a residence on Grove Point Road. The complainant reported that a female had attempted to enter their residence. When the suspect could not gain entry because the door was locked, they watched her walk over to the neighbor’s house and enter his residence. Knowing that the homeowner was home when the suspect had entered the neighbor’s house the complainants attempted to call him while calling the police. Arriving officers located the suspect inside the residence. The homeowner had confronted the suspect and directed officers to her location. When officers attempted to take custody of the suspect, she struggled. In the midst of the struggle with the suspect, an officer felt a hard object concealed under her shirt on her side. Once controlled, the officer retrieved a very long sheathed knife from her person. It was later learned that the suspect had taken the knife from the kitchen of the victim’s residence. During the arrest officers also noted that the suspect had an odor of alcohol on her breath.
