Bridgeport: There Is No Reason Not To Have Working Smoke Detector In Your Home

Bridgeport, Conn. (May 5, 2015) – Today, Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and Fire Chief Brian Rooney announced that nearly 50,000 free smoke alarms have been installed in the Park City since the inception of its “Safe Asleep” program. Fairfield News: 2nd Fatal Crash in 3 Hours

#Fairfield CT--Fairfield Fire Department Press Release: Shortly after returning from a fatal motor vehicle accident on I-95 Fairfield Firefighters responded to another  motor vehicle accident with injury on Black Rock Turnpike at the intersection with Burroughs Road.  A passenger vehicle collided with a tractor trailer trapping the unconscious driver inside his heavily damaged vehicle.   Fairfield Firefighters from Engine 2 and 3, Ladders 1 and 2, used the Jaws of Life gain access to the elderly operator and remove him from the vehicle. Life support efforts were initiated by AMR Paramedics assisted by Fairfield Firefighters on scene and enroute to St. Vincent’s MC.   According to Asst. Fairfield News: I-95 Fatal Crash Update

#Fairfield CT--3:10AM--Fairfield Fire Department Press Release Fairfield Firefighters responded to a report of vehicle accident with injury on I-95 NB between Exit 22 and Exit 23.  AMR Ambulance arrived first on scene and reported that extrication was required.  Fairfield Firefighters arrived on scene and initiated rescue efforts to free two trapped victims using the jaws of life and other rescue tools.  A third occupant who had been ejected on impact and was determined to be non-resuscitate-able by paramedics.   Firefighters from Engines 1 and 4, Ladders 1 and 2 worked together and extricated both victims in less than 10 minutes.  One victim was transported to St. Vincent’s MC, the other to Bridgeport Hosp.  Injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.   The…

Fairfield News: One Dead In I-95 Crash

3:50am---#cttraffic--#Fairfield CT--I-95 northbound between exit 22 and 23 is closed after a deadly crash. One person was ejected from a car after a three car crash that required firefighters to help the victims out of their cars. Unknown how many at this time have been transported to both Bridgeport Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital. Check traffic reports before your commute as this can affect it.
