Fairfield Police Need Your Help

The Fairfield Police are seeking assistance in identifying a subject who committed an assault on a patron of Anna Liffy’s restaurant/bar 1494 Post Road, Fairfield, on the evening of 4/4/15, (Saturday night into Easter). The victim, who was sitting at the bar with a friend, engaged in a minor altercation with the suspect. Following that incident, the suspect walked away. Moments later, the suspect returned and struck the victim in side of the face from behind. The suspect then continued the attack on the victim as he lay on the floor until employees intervened. The suspect is described as a white male, college age, approximately 5’7” with a stocky build and dark hair. Below is an artist rendering of the suspect based on witness descriptions.

Stratford News: Drugs Switched at Nursing Facility

On 03-11-2015 investigators of the Stratford Police Department arrested Jaimie Fitcher age 39 of Seymour on several drug charges. The arrest stems from an investigation into the alleged theft or misuse of prescription narcotics by Fitcher at the Lord Chamberlain Rehabilitation Facility located at 7003 Main Street in Stratford. Fitcher who is an LPN is believed to have been involved in taking prescription medication from the facility and patients. Fitcher admitted to swapping out prescription medication with over the counter Tylenol or allergy medications and keeping the pills. At the time of her arrest Fitcher was found to be in possession of 20 pills (Oxycodone and Diazepam). Fitcher was charged with Reckless Endangerment, Illegally Obtaining Narcotics, Illegally Possessing Narcotics, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Failure to Keep Prescription Medication…

Mayor Finch Announces New Movie Theatre, Cinépolis, Coming to Steelpointe Harbor

Mayor Bill Finch announced that Cinépolis USA, a luxury cinema complex, will build a 50,000 square foot cinema at Bridgeport’s Steelpointe Harbor, projected to open in 2017.
