Congressman Himes Help on Anthem’s Hack
One of Connecticut's largest health insurers, Anthem, announced last week that the company's computer systems were hacked in a major data breach that could affect as many as 80 million people nationwide. Anthem immediately contacted the FBI to launch an ongoing investigation. I share your frustration and concern with this terrible violation of privacy, which could impact Anthem's 1.2 million customers in Connecticut. Information stolen in the breach included data about current and former customers: names, birthdays, medical IDs, Social Security numbers, street addresses, e-mail address, employment information and some income data.
