11:22pm--#Bridgeport CT--A woman was robbed of her 9mm Ruger handgun on Park Avenue between Benahm and Worth Streets. She was seen bleeding and walking in and out of traffic on Park Avenue. Bridgeport Firefighters Battle Blaze On Wayne Street

#Bridgeport, CT -- Sept. 4, 2014 -- The Fire Department responded to a fire this afternoon on Wayne Street.At about 1 p.m. the department responded to 657 Wayne St. on a report of a house fire. No one was injured.Neighbors helped a child escape the house. Fire Commissioner James Meszoros, who was in the area, also saw the fire. He entered the house and helped an elderly resident out of the home.The house sustained heavy smoke and fire damage to the third floor. The fire remains under investigation.
