The Westport Library Premiers Exhibit about Downtown

#WESTPORT, CT — In an effort coordinated with the Your Downtown public outreach campaign, the Westport Library has premiered a new exhibit entitled “Thinking About Westport’s Future Downtown.” It is a visual representation, in the form of panels filled with quotes and “Word Clouds,” of the answers to questions from the Your Downtown Survey and comments made during the Your Downtown Visioning Workshops which took place earlier this summer.  The display is located in the Westport Library’s first-floor Riverwalk Hallway and on the staircase leading up to the main floor. One set of panels is subtitled “Westporters’ Downtown Survey Results,” while the other is “Envisioning Downtown Westport.” The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, will continue through…

Shelton News: Propane Leak- Hazmat Team Dispatched

12:18pm--#Shelton CT--The Derby Hazmat Team along with Shelton Firefighters, EMS and police have been dispatched to the Landmark Transportation maintenance facility at 55 Riverdale Avenue for a propane leak.  One of the buses inside the facility has a leak and they cannot shut off.  The road has been closed at the Inline Plastic Company at Brewster Street.  An alarm is now sounding at Inline Plastics. Bridgeport Firefighters Rescue Four From Inferno

Extended Video Report: #Bridgeport, CT -- Sept. 14, 2014 – A 2-year-old child remains hospitalized at Shriners Hospital  in Boston following a two-alarm fire on Washington Avenue. Her mother remains in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital, and her father has been upgraded to good condition. “First and foremost, I want to express my deepest sympathies those who were affected by this blaze,” said Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch. “This is a tragic occurrence, and the fact that it has left a two-year-old child in critical condition is heart wrenching. 11:50pm--#Milford CT-- A Ludlowe Road home was hit by car tonight and the gas main was ruptured.  Firefighters worked to keep the scene safe while waiting for the gas company to arrive.  Firefighters are still on scene at 2:04am working with gas company officials.
