#Fairfield CT- State Representative Tony Hwang along with Fairfield’s 1st responders (Fairfield Fire and Police Department) held an informational press conference on the use of Naloxone by front-line 1st responders in combating Heroin (opiate) overdose. Representative Hwang along with Fairfield 1st responders worked with the Dept. of Public Health Commissioner Jewel Mullen, legislative and medical advisors to allow all trained first responders to carry Naloxone – commonly known as Narcan, a non-addictive drug that binds to and blocks opiate receptors, temporarily reversing the effects of heroin overdose.
