Bridgeport homicide victim identified as Joseph Myers

We all knew this last night, but here is the official police press release: Bridgeport, Connecticut (July 17, 2014) – Last night, at 2056 hours, Joseph Myers (DOB: 9/8/75) was shot and killed on Jefferson Street alongside Newfield Park. He was found lying across the driver’s seat of his car and appeared to have been shot one time. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been in that area for several hours prior to his death. At this time we do not have a motive for the homicide. Anyone with information should contact Detective Curet at 203-581-5236. Bridgeport News: Police Investigating City’s 5th Homicide

CAUTION--Some people may find this video graphic/disturbing: 8:55pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Wednesday night in the city's East End. Police were dispatched to Jefferson Street between Newfield and Seaview Avenues on a report of gunfire and a possible shooting victim. Police found the victim unresponsive inside a vehicle on Jefferson Street suffering from a gunshot wound. Detectives responded to the scene and currently are processing the crime scene for evidence. Malloy Says No to 2,000 Migrant Children

Early this month the federal government requested the State of Connecticut House 2,000 migrant children at the closed Southbury Training School in Southbury. The federal government is trying to figure out where to put all of the children that have illegally crossing our southern borders. The governor feels the training school has the capacity or the ability to house the children due to the amount of time the facility has been closed. Teens Arrested With Loaded Gun

Two men face firearms charges after citizen complaints about the occupants of a vehicle creating a disturbance Tuesday night. Sgt. Jason Amato, Detective James Borrico and Officer Ilidio Periera were on proactive patrol in an unmarked car in response to several weekend shootings when they were alerted by a citizen about the occupants of a vehicle drinking and yelling loudly. They called in marked units and questioned the occupants. Officers observed a rear-seat passenger push a book bag onto the floor and attempt to push it under the seat with his feet.
