Detectives Investigate Three Shootings

(Bridgeport, CT – June 9, 2014) – Detectives are investigating three shootings that happened over the weekend.

On Sunday just before 2 a.m., Officer Ean Smith and Sgt. Edward Golding police responded to the area of Jane and Beach streets and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his legs. Police recovered a spent shotgun shell in the area and a small knife near where the victim was located. A man who described himself as a friend of the victim said the two had left a local bar not long before the shooting happened. The victim was identified as Maynor Quintanilla. His age is unavailable.

At 10:37 p.m. on SundayOfficer Bruno Rodrigues responded to Highland Avenue on a report of shots fired and observed a window shattered at a convenience store at 27 Highland. A short time later, police were advised that a gunshot victim had arrived at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. The victim, Joshua Robles, 19, of Bridgeport, was shot in the calf. He stated he didn’t see the gunman and only heard the shots.

At 12:15 this morning, Officers  Thomas Harper and Adam Rozum responded to a Harral Avenue address on a report of a person shot.

The victim, Troy Williams, 38, stated that he was walking home from buying cigarettes when two males emerged from the bushes and stated “That’s him.” He began running the two men chased him. One fired shots and Williams was struck in the heel.

Detectives Investigate Stabbing

(Bridgeport, CT – June 9, 2014) – A man was recovering Monday  after being stabbed multiple times in what he described as a robbery attempt.

Officer Marcus Teixeria responded to the area of Main and Lumber streets Saturday on a report of an assault. He located the victim who indicated that he was homeless and was suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim, who provided police and medical workers with two different names, stated that he was in the area of James Street and Harral Avenue when he was robbed by three males who exited a car. He stated that he was stabbed when he attempted to flee.

The victim is expected to recover and Detective Art Calvao is investigating.

Police did not locate a crime scene in the area of James and Harral. Investigator did locate a bloody shirt and napkin in the area where the victim was found.

The victim stated that the incident happened about two hour before police were alerted Saturday shortly at 3:45 p.m.
