Bridgeport News: Man Arrested In Home Invasion

Here is the police report on the story we reported LIVE as it was happening!   (Bridgeport, CT – May 22, 2014) – Police arrested a city man in connection with an incident in which he held two people at gunpoint in their home.   At 12:30 a.m. today, Officers Ean Smith, David Uliano and Mathew Szymczak responded to 1019 Kossuth St. on an unlawful restraint complaint. Officers spoke with the victims’ son who stated his parents were being held inside by someone armed with a shotgun.   Additional units responded and set up a perimeter. At that point, a 69-year-old man emerged from the front of the house. He was determined to be one of the victims and was escorted to safety.…

Fairfield News: 2 Crashes close roads

6:10pm--#Fairfield CT-- First responders have been busy with two back to back crashes.  The first was a single vehicle crash into a utility pole at Westport Turnpike at Treasure Road. The second crash happened moments later at New England Avenue at Meadow Street in front of Ganim's Garden Supply between an SUV and a Optimum Installation Truck.  The driver of the SUV along with 2 children and one infant were shaken up from the crash.  A second ambulance was dispatched to the scene.  Witnesses told me the truck crossed New Meadow Street into the SUV which had no stop sign.  Police are investigating.
