Himes, DeLauro, Esty, Maloney Unveil Comprehensive Rail Safety Bill

    NEW HAVEN, CT—Three of Connecticut’s representatives to Congress—Jim Himes, Rosa DeLauro, and Elizabeth Esty—unveiled today the Rail Safety Enforcement Act, comprehensive legislation to enhance rail safety. They are joined by New York Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney as an original cosponsor. Man Injured in Family Dispute

  (Bridgeport, CT – May 5, 2014) – A 33-year-old man was injured during a fight stemming from a family  dispute. Officer Benita Bailey responded to 17 Florence St. on Sunday just after 8 p.m. Police encountered the victim and other family members who were involved. Police learned that one man, 33-year-old Kent Woods, had been stabbed by a known party and that pepper spray had been discharged during the family dispute. His injuries were not life threatening. The suspect fled before police arrived. The incident remains under investigation.

Bridgeport News: One Arrested After Attempted Police Pursuit

1:o0ish--#Bridgeport CT--Around 1 am a police officer observed a white vehicle take off onto I-95 northbound at a high rate a speed.  The vehicle had a sunroof and a woman was seen screaming from it along with two men in the vehicle.   This gave police concern and police attempted to stop the vehicle but the vehicle was going faster than they wanted to engage and let the car go after entering Stratford.  The car was not faster than a radio as they informed state and Stratford Police.  Bridgeport and Stratford were able to locate the vehicle without engaging it.  A short time later the vehicle was found abandoned.  Good police work between Stratford and Bridgeport were able to locate…
